Marking the 80th anniversary of its first performance in its modern form, Scunthorpe and District Choral Society will be joining forces with Gainsborough Choral Society and members of other local choirs to perform Verdi's Requiem at The Baths Hall. This is one of the most dramatic, operatic requiems ever composed and was a great success from its first performance in Milan in 1874, remaining a very popular work to this day.

This huge orchestral and choral work characterised by dramatic arias and choruses will be conducted by Neil Ferris, Chorus Director of the BBC Symphony Chorus. The choirs will be accompanied by a full professional orchestra to help them do justice to this tremendous work. This is also an opportunity to hear four highly accomplished soloists: Anita Watson (soprano), Judith Le Breuilly (mezzo soprano), Charne Rochford (tenor) and James Cleverton (baritone). It promises to be a memorable and exciting evening, so do join us for this special performance.
