This Pre-BSL Level 1 course is taught by Shaun Fitzgerald as seen Channel 4 First Dates, BBC See Hear, and is designed for individuals with little or no prior knowledge of British Sign Language (BSL). Shaun will introduce fundamental BSL skills, basic communication techniques, and Deaf awareness, helping learners build confidence before progressing to BSL Level 1. By the end of the course, learners will have a clear understanding of the basics of BSL and Deaf culture.

They will confidently engage in basic conversations using common greetings and introductions while responding to simple questions. Shaun will teach essential vocabulary, including everyday words related to family, colours, days of the week, and hobbies. The course will also cover essential communication in everyday situations, such as ordering food, asking for directions, and expressing likes and dislikes.
